"Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion. Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father." Philippians 2:5-11

The "I am 3rd" lifestyle means that you put God first in your time commitments, in your caring for others and with your cash. These truths are illustrated powerfully by the parable of the Good Samaritan.

If you want to obey the Great Commandment and live it out the "I am 3rd" lifestyle is how you are to live.

That matters!

It also matters because that is the lifestyle Jesus lived when He came to redeem the world. The man Who did more than anyone else to change the world lived the "I am 3rd" lifestyle.

Would you like to change your corner of the world? Then who better to imitate than Jesus!

Paul says, "Think of yourself the way Jesus did!"

How was that?

Jesus thought third!

Thinking third means:

  • Not clinging to privilege
  • Not clinging to position
  • Not clinging to power
  • Not choosing pride

Are you thinking third?

As a believer you are called to think like Jesus. Why not compare His mindset and attitude with His?

How do you handle privilege?

Do you covet a position?

How do you deal with power?

Are you clinging to pride?
