“Rejoice in the Lord
always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is
near. Do not be
anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ
Jesus. Finally,
brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is
pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy--think about such things. What ever you have learned or received or heard from me, or
seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with
you.” Philippians 4:4-9
The
greatest power God has given us is the power to choose!
In
the context of this Scripture we have the power to choose our attitude.
Attitude is the result of what we choose to believe about what we believe.
Attitude is how we choose to perceive the events that unfold in our daily
living. Attitude is adjusting to life as though you believe God is in charge!
You,
and you alone are responsible for your attitude! You have the power to choose!
Rejoicing
is a choice! Choose it!
Gentleness
is a choice! Choose it!
Thanksgiving is a choice! Choose it!
Peace
is a choice! Choose it!
Excellence
is a choice! Choose it!
Obedience
is a choice! Choose it!
If
you are defeated or discouraged it is because you have chosen to be. You can
chance your attitude and change your anxiety level!
Why
not use the greatest power God invested in you – the power to choose!
In
anticipation of the Memorial Day weekend, one of the keys to a good attitude is
choosing what to remember and what to not remember.
Notice
I didn’t say I didn’t say choosing to remember and choosing to forget. I put it
that way because we never forget, we just choose how will we will remember.
Now,
this very morning, is a great time for an attitude adjustment!
