"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples." Matthew 28:1-8

We know we have the hope of Heaven but the only way to get to Heaven is to die. No one really wants to do that. So where do we find hope between now and Heaven?

As I was studying Matthew 28 I discovered the answer to sustaining hope while we are on this side of Heaven.

The answer is found in four words that reoccur throughout this chapter. The four words? Come see - go tell!

First we see it when the women arrive at the tomb. The stone is rolled away from the tomb and the angel is seated on it. He announces the resurrection and bids them to "come see" the empty tomb!

Looking in they see it is empty indeed they are filled with hope and wonder! They came expecting to prepare a corpse but were unprepared for what they found! Nothing! They came heartbroken but left hopeful!

They were the first to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

After they saw proof of the resurrection the angel who had said, "Come see" then told them to "go tell" the disciples that Jesus had risen.

This is a formula for finding hope. Come see the Risen Jesus. Remember what He accomplished through His death! Remember what He conquered through Resurrection. When your hope is restored go tell someone else about the hope you have in Jesus!
