“The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it. 's Passover. . The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:1-13
“It (love) always protects…..” I Corinthians 13:7
Here is another stirring example of how God protected His people!
He covered them with the blood of a first-born unblemished lamb and the angel of death passed over them while all the first-born of the Egyptians died.
As you know, this event is celebrated today as the Feast of the Passover or simply, Passover.
It is a big deal! It is remembered with great solemnity and celebration every year since this ancient event first happened as recorded above.
Also, it is a big deal because it foreshadowed the time when God’s Lamb would shed His blood to cover our sins and protect us from His wrath.
The plague of the death angel was the tenth of a series of miraculous but devastating plagues God visited upon the Egyptians in support of Moses’ demand that Pharaoh let God’s people go. During each of these plagues that God sent upon Egypt He protected the Hebrews!
God’s affection is His protection!
God has you covered!
God has your back!
The Passover proved it!
